Always exciting when a job comes back from the printer. We based these beer mats on posters we had previously done. Curiously what we found was that people who hadn’t previously tasted craft beer were enticed to do so by the description of the flavours. So we thought let’s do some beer mats with the tasting notes for each beer and see can we convert some more Heineweiserberg drinkers.

I’ll use any excuse to visit the guys at 8 Degrees Brewing. Brewing beer is a fascinating process and they are always trying something out some new for me to taste. I visited the brewery last november to finalise the label designs for their winter brew which was named by launching a Facebook naming competition. The final name chosen was “A Winter’s Ale” and it was made using a special blend of spices from Green Saffron – a renowned spice importer based in Midleton, Co. Cork. A blend of orange, cloves and star anise gave it a distinctive but subtle christmas after taste.
